3rd World War Future Causes

Background

To tell you the danger of future conflict or 3red world war between powerful governments in Europe and North America, we will start with some global development reasons for these two regions.

The reason for the First World War was not only political but it was also based on economic issues like unequal share of the world trade, industrial revolution and globalization.

In the late 19th century, Industrial Revolution accelerated rapid economic growth which caused an increase in production which led to population explosion and urbanization. Population explosion resulted in increased need for food production increasing food prices and increasing unemployment levels. Rapid industrialization created a demand for cheap labor to work in factories, mines, farms and factories and this was one of the main causes of World Wars I-II.

Now let's talk about the present days when Russia is threatening other eastern European states, China has its own military ambitions and India is planning to invade Pakistan because they feel threatened by it. Let's look at three main factors that are considered to be the 3rd world war causes.

1) Global Food Crisis (WW2)

Global food crisis and consequent wars is considered as the 2nd World War causes.

As there are high level differences in income among nations around the globe which also creates imbalance between rich and poor people leaving many poorer nations out of developed world.

As per United Nations' report there are 977 million hungry people in the world today - 774 million of them are in poor countries - and another 662 million are malnourished, meaning that over half of world population is undernourished.

Food shortage is also an issue when it comes to developing countries which leads to famine. In case we take Vietnam example recently there have been several cases of “Vietnamese Famine” which were caused because of lack of sufficient quantity of rice. This situation has made UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon want to ban any form of wheat imports from any country other than Asian nation. The solution is available, but it will have huge negative impact on poor countries that depend on grain import. As such the 3rd World War is related to global hunger in all parts of the world and if nothing is done soon we can expect more severe consequences for those who suffer from hunger.

2) Nuclear Weapons Arms Race

The third point to discuss the 3rd World War cause is nuclear weapons race. There is so called arms race between major powers and now world leaders are divided over this very issue. A few world leaders think atomic power and mass destruction is good for everyone while others see it as a threat to humanity. At last we have US president Donald Trump which said: "The most important strategic decision… is getting rid of all nuclear weapons. That makes it possible for us to get along with our neighbours and it stops them from attacking us or their allies. If we do so, then they will never be able to attack us again." For me, it seems too simple to stop the ongoing war by putting a cap on the number of bombs each country produces, but the truth is that both sides are trying to manufacture more nuclear weapons. So far five out of six nuclear armed countries (USA, China, Japan, Israel, France and Britain) are believed to be working towards building up their nuclear arsenals and this would also leave many innocent and helpless. It is obvious that no democratic society should use nuclear weapons.

3) Cybercrime (WW3)

One of the best examples of cybercrime is ransomware attacks which have become widespread in recent years. Ransomware usually targets private data of companies or individuals to gain access to company accounts, files, etc. Sometimes, ransom is taken into account as a way to extort money from victims. Another type of cybercriminal activity that would make people fear 3rd World War is social engineering. Social Engineering is manipulating people and convincing them to give confidential information about themselves or businesses. Criminals target people on Facebook through fake accounts and try to trick user to give unwanted information. Internet users are asked questions that put their minds off thinking about their real identity. These criminals create false profiles with perfect photographs, names and backgrounds of their victims to lure them in giving sensitive personal information.

They can be easily detected using surveillance cameras installed in various locations across the world. People often fall prey to hackers looking for ways to gain access to secure online storage devices, documents or pictures. Hackers use new technology to steal peoples’ email address, passwords and credit card details and later sell stolen information to scammers posing as legitimate financial institutions (pharmacies). Now there have been several incidents about hacking activities happening in China, Iran, Turkey and Ukraine. According to reports, the Chinese government is making thousands of millions of dollars every year selling hacker’s personal data on social media sites to foreign intelligence agencies. When someone gets hacked he/she may lose his/her entire identity, bank accounts, medical records,etc. Thus cyberspace is playing a vital role in spreading terrorism and criminal activities which can directly impact international peace. Therefore, cybersecurity is becoming top priority in terms of tackling crimes and terrorizing people.
